Previous Halloween Outlaw Series Races

2008 Outlaw

In October 2008, the first annual Halloween Outlaw race was held in part of the SLUT Outlaw series.
The race featured City Creek Canyon, a moderate descent with smooth sweeping turns. An easy ride for all levels, but quick enough to put an edge on it. The best part of it was that it was closed to cars, the road was gated off and was exclusive to walkers and bikers. Unfortunately, that made for a hike up, but that sometimes became more fun than the skate down.

2009 Outlaw

Colton Anderson and Connor Wagner

The 2009 Halloween Outlaw was held in the Avenues Grade yard. This race was a spooky one. Talk about the vibe of the event. Being an outlaw, there's always the sketch factor that it's going to get shut down, on top of the thousands of sub-terrain inhabitants casting spells and curses of disapproval from their graves.

The race was two-man heats double-elimination style with a one push start. That was to ensure a deadly close race down the following seven sharp 90 degrees. There were plenty of crashes, and bails, but in the end the energy was still alive and positive.
